"Nothing to be frightened about. This is a complex, but common procedure here. Ask Fr'os'ty about it! She went through exactly what you're going through when she first arrived."

"Really? But your hair is still blue and white!"

"This procedure fixes the real problem caused by Robinson's Syndrome, which is what originally gave us the blue hair. Trust me: when you're finished, you'll be able to eat and put on a little weight, and you won't be tired all of the time like you are now! But the blue hair is just a side effect, and it's not really dangerous at all. And most people learn to like their hair. Most humans seem to just love it, and are jealous about it!"

"So you mean we're not treated like...freaks or something here?"

"Not at all!"

The 'Robinson Syndrome' is  a genetic problem I cobbled up for my latest book. The blue & white hair these young elf girls have is secondary effect of the syndrome. Naturally, the hair color isn't dangerous, but the other genetic problem is. It causes a lot of young elf girls to die young-- only 75-80 years old (which is very young for a race that routinely lives to be 800-900 with 1000 years not unheard of!). The problem makes it difficult for the person to eat; they simply don't have any appetite. This is followed, of course, by weight loss, and then other internal problems...

(Coming up with the 'whole story' took me a while.)

It sounds a lot what I deal with having Cancer. A friend I met here who had the same surgeries and cancer I do gave me a medical recipe he got from a famous hospital in the states. I has pretty much stopped eating and my hospital wanted to put a "peg" or tube into my stomach for external feedings..I said "no thanks" anyways this kind gentle man gave the secret recipe that changed my ability to eat and my parents bought me a very cool machine called a "vitamixer" these two things have helped me maintain and even gain back some weight so I am truly blessed from an angel whom I did not know who reached out me to changed my life in a huge way and by my loving parents. Even the machine you use looks a lot like my radiation machine. Now mind you my hair is not blue but many of the other things are ringing a bell for me anyways. I do like the story line so keep it coming you are doing a great job so far

Glad there's a cure for it, and that it finally has a name.

Capn, why are you up so early?

Neighbor's car (or someone's guest) woke me up completely... Barking dogs kept me awake long enough to make it useless to try and go back to sleep. Chances are good I'll take a nap this afternoon. ;)

This person's car had glass pack mufflers. So it was noisy. The dog is some little yapper... I think it's Psycho Sue's mutt... In another time and place I'd probably drag my .22 pistol out and fix the problem...
